Easy Star All Stars

Easy Star All-Stars play at Manning Bar in Sydney on Thursday 16 April,supported by local dub pioneers The Versionairies.

Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band is a complete reggae reimagining of The Beatles’ album Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Released in Australia on April 11, it features the talents of reggae icons Sugar Minott, Steel Pulse, The Mighty Diamonds, Ranking Roger, Michael Rose, Bunny Rugs, Luciano, Frankie Paul, Max Romeo, Matisyahu and U Roy.

The Strides

The Strides, who fuse reggae, afrobeat and dub, play at the Vanguard in Newtown tonight, 2 April, and tommorrow night, 3rd April, at the Brass Monkey in Cronulla. The band features the vocal talents of Ras Roni, recently of the Resurrectors. I saw them perform at the Forum in support of Tony Allen the other week and they put on an impressive and fun show.
